Brief Biography of Organisation:
The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) is a governmental research institute and a public health agency under the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. The main mission of THL is to promote health and welfare in Finland and to provide reliable, evidence-based information for the government, decision-makers and other actors in the social welfare and health sectors.
Role Organisation will play within project:
THL brings public health and epidemiological expertise to Pandem-2. THL has a central role in current national Covid-19 response, and therefore has strong experience in pandemic management. THL is also leading a large EU Joint Action on health security, SHARP JA, which aims to strengthen preparedness in the EU against serious cross-border threats to health and support the implementation of International Health Regulations.
