PANDEM-2 was delighted to be featured in the latest SDG Accord Report 2022: ‘The University and College Sector’s Collective Response to the Global Goals‘ through our project coordinators, the National University of Ireland, Galway.
The SDG Accord supports and advances the critical role that education has in delivering the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the value it brings to governments, business and wider society. The Accord is a commitment that learning institutions are making to deliver the goals, annually report on progress and share the learning with each other both nationally and internationally.
The findings from the third SDG Accord annual progress report show awareness of the SDGs is growing in universities and colleges across the world. NUI Galway has signed the SDG Accord, demonstrating their commitment at an institutional level to embed the SDGs into their work in education, research, leadership, operations, administration and engagement activities.
PANDEM-2 was featured under the SDG in Research focusing on Goal 3 ‘Good Health and Wellbeing’ and Goal 17: ‘Partnerships for the Goals’ for our aim of strengthening EU capacity for pandemic preparedness with project outputs that will have global applicability. PANDEM-2 is also EU Climate Ambassador and aims to support climate action in the project’s work particularly by highlighting its link to pandemics and global health, this contributes to the SDG Goal 13 focusing on climate action.
