STAMINA Hosts First International Summit on Pandemic Management

On the 18th of May 2022, STAMINA held its first ever International Summit on Pandemic Management.

The STAMINA project is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, and it aims to develop solutions to better the capability of pandemic planners and responders to manage, assess, and predict pandemic situations. This is achieved by providing improved decision-making technology to pandemic crisis management practitioners at a regional, national and European level.

The summit took place in in Valencia, Spain, and was organised by STAMINA partner, the Valencia Local Police.

This hybrid event welcomed both virtual and in-person participants who had the opportunity to listen to experts in the field present about lessons learned from the present COVID-19 pandemic as well as ways to tackle potential future pandemics.

Speakers included an array of regional and national planners, policy makers, civil protection agencies, law enforcement agencies, front-line practitioners, and experts in the areas of emergencies, health and research. The progress of the STAMINA project and the pandemic management tools developed within the framework of the project was also presented, with attendees having the chance to attend a stakeholders‘ workshop on the 17th of May and trial the tools developed in a real-world environment.
